A Discussion with Seaside’s Governing Body

For the fifth episode of season two, we focus not only city governance - by sitting down with our mayor and one of our six city councilors, but all of the new changes the city has experienced over the past year. 

We are first joined by Seth Morrisey, City Councilor representing Ward's 3 and 4 for the City of Seaside. As a lifelong resident of Seaside and Oregon's North Coast region, Councilor Morrisey talks about the dynamics of a city council, explains to us the importance of having "wards," his and the council's current goals, and what he hopes to see for the future. 

 

Our second guest is Seaside's new mayor, Steve Wright, elected in November 2022. Mayor Wright, Seaside's 34th mayor since being incorporated in 1899, has been a resident of Seaside for many years, and involved in city government for a large portion of those. Steve talks about what he's seen in the past, along with what he hopes to implement during his time as mayor.
